Our physicians have over 50 years of combined experience in assisting New York
City travelers. Our physicians are known by many New Yorkers and visitors
for consistent quality and reliability. We frequently receive referrals
from international travel insurance and medical assistance companies, tour
operators, and major corporations.
Our physicians are board-certified in their respective specialties, are emergency room trained and have an exemplary bedside
manner. Our philosophy is based on a team approach to health. We encourage
our patients' input regarding their own well-being. We are a boutique style medical center located on the quiet residential Upper East Side of Manhattan. Our contemporary, warm office overlooks beautiful Central Park. Our practice is both morally and ethically opposed to the concept of a true boutique (concierge) medical practice as our philosophy is that a physician should be available to his patients at all times without the burden of having to pay a retainer fee. We choose to offer house calls and make ourselves available for our patients after hours for our patients comfort and convenience. We practice medicine the old fashioned way and put our patients before profit. Our fees are reasonable and commensurate for a Manhattan internal medicine private practice.
Our doctors are members of the American Medical Association, the
International Society of Travel Medicine, the
International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers,
the American Committee on Clinical Tropical Medicine and Travelers' Health, and the
American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Our Medical Director, Dr. Ronald A. Primas (Doctor to the Stars TM), is a travel medicine expert and is doubly credentialed in Travel Medicine by the leading national and international organizations in Travel Health. He is certified in
Clinical Tropical Medicine and Travelers' Health
from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and certified in Travel Medicine from the International Society of Travel Medicine. Dr. Primas is a board-certified and re-certified
internist,
a
preventive medicine specialist,
and a
Fellow
in the
American College of Physicians
and the
American College of Preventive Medicine.
Often likened to a modern day Marcus Welby, Dr. Primas is the recipient of the prestigious
American Academy of Home Care Physicians
2002 House Call Doctor of the Year Award and a recipient of the AMA Physician Recognition Award. He is also listed in the 2006 -2010 editions of the Guide to America's Top Physicians and as a 2010 New York Super Doctor in internal medicine.
Dr. Primas is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honor achieved by their peers for personal integrity, superior competence in internal medicine, professional accomplishment and demonstrated scholarship. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine and is dedicated to promoting health and reducing the risks of preventable disease, injury and disability. He is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and an Attending Physician in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center.
